Most of Daytona's homes went up before 1990, and a lot of them sit close to salt water. We keep those systems running, or replace them the smart way, with upfront pricing every time.
Daytona got its name from Mathias Day Jr., who bought the land in 1871 and built the hotel the first part of town grew around. It became a town in 1876, and in 1926 Daytona, Daytona Beach, Kingston and Seabreeze merged into the city of Daytona Beach.
Today the Halifax River, part of the Intracoastal Waterway, splits the city in two: the mainland on the west side and the beachside barrier island along the Atlantic.
We're veteran & family-owned, based in St. Augustine, and we cover Daytona Beach on both sides of the river. Our techs carry the common parts on the truck, so most repairs are done in one visit.
Census data puts the median Daytona Beach home at 1980. About 43% of the city's housing went up between 1970 and 1989, and roughly 7 in 10 homes were built before 1990. Those houses have been through a few air conditioners already, and a lot of them are due for another.
New air conditioners stopped being made with R-22 refrigerant in 2010, and production and import of R-22 ended January 1, 2020. If your system was installed before 2010, there's a good chance it runs on R-22, and recharging a leak gets harder and more expensive every year.
An R-22 system with a small, fixable problem can still be worth repairing. One with a leaking coil usually isn't. We'll tell you which one you've got and give you the price either way.
About 92% of occupied homes in Daytona Beach heat with electricity, so for most families one system handles both cooling and heating. That's year-round run time, and it's why yearly checkups matter.
0% financing for up to 21 months is available on approved system replacements through Hearth, and new equipment has to meet Florida's current efficiency minimums.
Beachside homes sit right on the Atlantic, and mainland homes along the Halifax get salt air off the lagoon. It's great for living. Your outdoor unit doesn't love it.
Carrier notes that salt water can be carried as far as two miles from the coast, depending on wind and humidity. In Daytona, a lot of homes are inside that range.
Salt corrodes condenser fins, tubing and electrical connections. That cuts cooling power and can shut a system down when a connection fails.
Our $179.95 Premier visit is a full tune-up plus coil cleaning. The Premier Maintenance Plan gives you that visit twice a year, starting at $259.95 for one system.
Living near the ocean means humid air. Our air quality options include dehumidifiers and whole-home air purifiers.
Older systems don't usually die all at once. They tend to slow down first. Here's what to watch for if your equipment is getting up there.
The system runs and runs but the thermostat barely moves. That can be low refrigerant, a dirty coil or a worn-out compressor.
If your bill is creeping up and your habits haven't changed, your system may be working harder to do the same job.
One repair is normal. Calling for help every summer is a sign it's time to compare the cost of fixing against replacing.
Rattling, grinding or a system that kicks on and off every few minutes deserves a look before it leads to a bigger failure.
Every service links to the details.
Blowing warm air, short cycling, strange noises or a frozen coil. We diagnose it and give you a price before any work starts.
Replacing an older system? We'll size it right and install it clean, including ductless mini splits for additions and bonus rooms.
One-time tune-up and inspection for $89.99, or a full tune-up with coil cleaning for $179.95.

All of it. Whether you call it Daytona or Daytona Beach, it's one city, and we work on both sides of the Halifax River.
Check the data plate on the outdoor unit; it lists the refrigerant type. If you can't find it, we'll check during a service visit. Systems installed before 2010 are the most likely to use R-22.
Sometimes. A bad capacitor or contactor is usually worth fixing. A refrigerant leak is a different story, since R-22 production ended in 2020. We'll give you an honest answer and upfront pricing either way.
Salt air speeds up coil and electrical corrosion, so twice-a-year service with coil cleaning is a smart plan. That's what our Premier Maintenance Plan covers.
The data plate on the outdoor unit usually shows a manufacture date, sometimes built into the serial number. Ask during any visit and we'll read it for you. If it's from before 2010, check the refrigerant type too.
